Doula Services - "Love All, Serve All"

My hands, my voice, and my heart are the three most essential ingredients I plan to bring to your birth. I take great care to use them each wisely... to speak only when it would improve the silence, to carry out in my hands only what I evaluate first in my head and carry to my heart. Each birth is sacred and will be remembered long after it is passed. If you hire me to be your doula, I will promise to always seek to quiet my mind, understand, and respond in a wise manner that will help to keep your birth a positive experience.

What I do as your doula:

*I will be available for you by phone and email throughout your pregnancy for questions and concerns
*2 prenatal visits in your 3rd trimester
*1 visit with your healthcare provider if you desire
*On call for you 24 hours a day in your due month
*I will have a back up doula available in cases of emergency or illness
*Meet you in labor where you desire
*Provide continuous doula care throughout labor and birth
*Stay until everyone is stable and bonding/breastfeeding has been established- usually 1-2 hours after the birth
*Be available by phone for the next few weeks until the postpartum visit
*1 postpartum visit- to debrief and ask questions


What I do NOT do:

*Vaginal exams, heart tones, or any medical procedures - my role is one of emotional and physical support
*Make decisions for you- that is your responsibility
*Speak to your provider on your behalf {I advocate talking to your provider about all options before choices must be made and keeping communication open. I am your support person, not your spokesperson.}
*Guarantee you a perfect birth. I do not believe there is such thing nor do I promise that you will not have interventions. I do promise to bring love and support to your birth.
